About

I live in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. It’s paradise and home to many artists.

In the digital universe I am a jack of many trades and a master of none. I am trained in photography, graphics & multimedia design. I build websites for artists and arts groups on Vancouver Island and participate in art shows.

It is natural that people want to update their own websites and avoid paying me to do so. And so, I have committed to learning about WordPress “websites” by making this one. How easy is it and is it free?

I already know it helps to have experience.. The free template cannot be adjusted without paying a premium charge. You are locked into a certain look and layout that is not flexible even if you know basic html. …there’s the rub.

To learn more I need content. So what you see is what you get.

In the heart of the Cowichan Valley is Duncan, known as the “City of Totems”. That’s where I live.

Below are photographs of totems on the streets of downtown Duncan embedded in the context of the story behind the pole as understood by me.  I have been the City of Totems Tour Guide for the past 7 years.
